"Syberia II is a 2004 adventure game conceived by Benoît Sokal and developed by MC2-Microïds, and a continuation to Syberia. It is a third-person puzzle-solving game. Stylistically identical to the first Syberia, Syberia II improves upon the first game by introducing more realistic character animation. The game includes a recap of the first chapter, so therefore does not require the player to have experienced the first game.
Sokal's later adventure games, such as Sinking Island and Paradise have no connections to Syberia but do use the same high quality artwork and a similar interface.

Syberia is a 2002 computer adventure game conceived by Benoît Sokal, developed by Microïds and published through The Adventure Company. It follows the protagonist Kate Walker as she attempts to wrap up a sale on the behalf of her law firm. In addition to the main plot, the game contains a dramatic subplot, conducted via calls received on Kate's cell phone, involving Kate's deteriorating relationship with her fiancé.
Syberia is a third-person, mouse-driven, semi-realistic/semi-surrealistic adventure game in which the player must solve various puzzles and follow certain procedures in order for the linear storyline to proceed. As a pure graphical adventure game, Syberia follows the guidelines first introduced by LucasArts: it is impossible to die or to get stuck at any moment in the game, which allows the user to fully immerse him/herself in Syberia's universe without the fear of making a mistake or the constant need of saving the game.
The game uses elements of art nouveau and steampunk fiction in its story. Most devices and tools, and even a train, are powered by springs and wind-up gears. Syberia was acclaimed by critics for its graphic design and intelligent script, and a sequel, Syberia II, was released in 2004, picking up where the first game leaves off.
Sokal's earlier game Amerzone is located in the same fictional universe, and Syberia contains some references to it. Another of Sokal's adventure games Paradise has no connections to Syberia but does use the same high quality artwork and a similar interface.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country is the sixth feature film based on the Star Trek science fiction television series. The film was released by Paramount Pictures in 1991 and is the last of the films led by the original series cast. After an ecological disaster leads to two former enemies, the Federation and the Klingon Empire, brokering a tenuous peace, the crew of the starship Enterprise must prevent full-scale war from breaking out on the eve of negotiations.
Star Trek VI was initially planned on being a prequel to the original series, featuring new, younger actors portraying the crew of the Enterprise while still in school. Faced with producing a new film in time for Star Trek's 25th anniversary, Denny Martin Flinn and Nicholas Meyer, the director of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, wrote a script based on a suggestion from Leonard Nimoy about what would happen if "the wall came down in space", touching on the contemporary topic of the Cold War. The film was completed in just 11 months; Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry died before the movie's premiere.
The Undiscovered Country garnered positive reviews upon release, with publications praising the lighthearted acting and tongue-in-cheek references. The film earned two Academy Award-nominations, for Best Makeup and Best Sound Effects. Also of note, this is the only Star Trek movie to win a Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film.

Saving Private Ryan is a 1998 war film set during the invasion of Normandy during World War II. It was directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Robert Rodat. The film is notable for the intensity of its opening 24 minutes, which depict the Omaha beachhead assault of June 6, 1944. Afterward, it follows Tom Hanks as Captain John H. Miller and several Rangers (Tom Sizemore, Edward Burns, Barry Pepper, Vin Diesel, Giovanni Ribisi, and Adam Goldberg) as they search for a paratrooper of the United States 101st Airborne Division.
Rodat first came up with the film's story in 1994 when he saw a monument dedicated to eight brothers who died during the American Civil War. Inspired by the story, Rodat decided to write a similar story set in World War II. The script was submitted to producer Mark Gordon, who then handed it to Hanks. It was finally given to Spielberg, who had previously demonstrated his interest in WWII themes with films such as Schindler's List, and decided to direct Saving Private Ryan after reading the film's script. The film's premise is very loosely based on the real-life case of the Niland brothers.
